I just recently received a notebook computer for my birthday. I wife got it for me because he knew I needed it for my work. I desired something that was portable, so I preferred a laptop vice a desktop computer. We still have a desktop in our home, and I have found that I do not like to use it now that I have my notebook. When I travel, I look forward to having my computer with me. Unfortunately, I have no idea how long my notebook battery will work before I have to find an outlet.

I have used my notebook exclusively in my home. I have not had a chance to travel with it yet, and have not found the need to use the battery. I did some experimenting however, and I allowed it to work exclusively on the notebook battery to see how long it would last. I put together a picture CD for a friend of mine, and spent about an hour doing so. I was dismayed to find that after that hour had passed, I only had 65% of my notebook battery power left. I don’t know if that was just because I was using the CD burner, but I have a feeling that the notebook battery will not last as long as I need it to.

This means that I will probably have to go out and buy one or two new batteries for my laptop computer. I’m not sure what a notebook battery costs, and I am almost afraid to ask. However if I am going to be traveling, I do want to know that I have all of the battery power that I require. When I use my laptop at a hotel, I know that I will have power nearby. However, if I need to use it anywhere else, I am going to require the battery power. Depending on how long the notebook battery will last, I may have to limit the time I use my computer away from an outlet.

Along with buying a new notebook battery, I will have to have a way to recharge it. I know the one in my laptop recharges itself when you plug in the AC power. When I have an extra notebook battery or two, I might want a charger that will charge them separately. There is no way to charge them all at once. When I travel, it will be a good idea to have the notebook battery within my notebook charged, as well as having an extra one ready to go. I am rather disappointed that the battery does not last any longer than it does, because I thought that was the whole purpose of a laptop computer.
